I agree with Tim Keller, “I read because I’m desperate.”
While reading by itself will not make one a better leader or follower, reading well will improve both. Yet, even then, one must take the knowledge and allow it to change his/her life.
Read purposefully.
Wow, I dont have the book in front of me to pull the exact quote, but I was impacted by the author's writing about INNOVATION.
He explained that INNOVATION is the creativeness of coming up with ideas, but more importantly the ability to implement those ideas.
See we are dead in the water with all of our talk, we say we should do this and that, and our salesman go out and sell everything that we are GOING to have instead of all the unbelievable things we already have. People complain about the way things are not working, yet ONLY COMPLAIN...do nothing. How does that help? In fact it can hurt the company more than it can help. Its like Danny said, "quit talkin' about it, and just do it!"
